Iwona Sojka

Born in the most mysterious Polish mountains, Góry Świętokrzyskie, educated as professional violinist, by nature – a real Khazar.

She graduated an Academy of Music in Katowice in violin class. For more than ten years she seeks, learns and performs European folk music – songs and dance tunes – both the written ones and from living tradition. She learned from folk violin masters in Poland, Hungary, Sweden and Moldva.

She performs with most famous Polish folk music groups as Kapela Brodów, Ania Broda, Schola Węgajty; she leads traditional dance workshops.

She is a founding member, violinist and song-writer of Kapela Jazgodki, and violinist of Bocadorada.

As a storyteller she tells folk tales of all over the world as well as real and invented stories. She performes in numerous places and storytelling events for kids and adults in Poland.
